Wood pulp and silicone
Barbecue paper is mainly composed of wood pulp and silicone. This paper is non-stick, waterproof, oil-proof and highly heat-resistant (up to 230°C), making it very suitable for baking, grilling, steaming and freezing food. Barbecuing paper, also known as silicone oil paper, has a three-layer structure: the first layer is the base paper, which is generally ordinary paper; the second layer is the coating, which is a composite material formed by coating plastic on the surface of the paper through a casting machine; the third layer is silicone oil, whose component is cyclopolydimethylsiloxane, which is not very harmful to the body. This structure of barbecuing paper gives it excellent durability and convenience, making it widely used in various cooking methods such as grilling and baking. 12
Although barbecuing paper is safe to use under normal circumstances, there are low-priced products made of industrial-grade coated paper on the market, which may have an impact on health. Therefore, when choosing barbecuing paper, you should choose products marked as edible grade to avoid potential health risks.
